The EAC Protocol Suite (JPro 1.0 or Jumuiya Protocol 1.0) is a Java-based software application developed by Fine Edge (East Africa) Limited that harnesses technology to deliver a compendium of the East African Community's major protocols for use on personal (desktop and laptop) computers, tablet computers and smart phones without the aid of an internet connection. This all-in-one, easy-to-use program aims to complement the traditional print and online-based methods of delivery of key EAC documents to the EAC's stakeholders. The core advantage of the application is the cost-effective, timely, environmentally-friendly delivery of the EAC's most vital resources to users. It is targeted for use by EAC stakeholders including; traders, government officials, staff of EAC institutions, private sector organisations, civil society organisations, non government organisations, diplomats, media and students. KEY FEATURES: Searchable: Keyword search to easily/quickly find content/texts Audio capability: An option to listen to content/texts *Multi-language: Content/texts available in English, Kiswahili and French languages Scalable: Content/texts can be revised, added or removed In-built reader: Application includes reader, which eliminates need for additional software Printer-friendly: Content/texts can be printed as required Modular: Additional features can be installed on demand Interactive: Allows users with an internet connection to request related resources/information |
